World Bank approves $100 mln funds for Pakistan
The amount will be utilized for family planning services in Punjab.
Washington: Following the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank has also granted approval for $100 million in funds for Pakistan.
According to the announcement, the approved amount of $100 million by the World Bank will be utilized in Punjab for family planning services.
Under the program, the general public will have free access to family planning programs, and facilities will be provided to the citizens in underserved areas.
It is worth noting that yesterday, after the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) agreement, the Executive Board of the IMF gave approval for a new loan program for Pakistan.
As per the statement issued by the international financial institution today, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund has approved a 9-month Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) of $2.25 billion SDR (approximately $3 billion or 111 percent of quota) for Pakistan.
