Former MPA files lawsuit against Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman
PPP leader insisted that Hafiz Naeem publicly apologize in a press conference and pay one billion rupees as compensation.
Karachi: Tariq Masood Arain, a former member of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), has initiated a one billion rupees defamation lawsuit against Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi.
According to Tariq Masood, false, baseless, and malicious allegations were leveled against him by Hafiz Naeem.
Tariq Masood stated that legal action has been taken against Hafiz Naeem for defamation, and a case of defamation has been filed in court.
Last month, Tariq Masood Arain sent a one billion rupees defamation notice to Hafiz Naeem.
In the notice sent by Tariq Masood Arain, it was stated that Hafiz Naeem falsely accused him, causing harm to his reputation and distress to his voters.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman had previously accused Tariq Masood Arain of being involved in land grabbing and being a frontman for Asif Zardari.
In the notice, the PPP leader demanded that Hafiz Naeem apologize for the allegations during a press conference and pay one billion rupees as compensation.
Tariq Masood Arain had stated in the notice that if an apology is not issued, legal action will be pursued.
