Moscow: A Russian Instagram influencer who survived on raw vegetables and fruits for the past four years has starved to death.
According to foreign media reports, 39-year-old Zahana Samsonova died in Malaysia. She had been on a strict vegan diet for the past four years, living only on vegetables and fruits, but her eating habits had seriously affected her health.
Zhanna Samsonova's mother confirmed that her daughter died on July 21. The influencer’s immune system was severely compromised due to diet. She used to post videos of fruits and vegetables on Instagram explaining the efficacy of the diet.

She used to post pictures of different types of fruits and vegetables from many countries of the world on social media and provide information to the followers.
A friend of Zhanna Samsonova, who lives on the floor above her residence, told foreign media that Zhanna's health had worsened over the past several years.
According to the influencer's friend, he several times asked Zahana to seek treatment, however she refused to do so.
Some media reports also stated that Zhanna Samsonova was on a vegan diet for the past decade.
