"However, in certain circumstances, the Election Commission can delay the election for one to two months not more than that,” he added.


Islamabad: Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said elections will be held in Pakistan in November, however the elections may be delayed by one to two months.
While giving an interview to foreign media, Khawaja Asif stated that the assembly will be dissolved by the evening of August 09, after which elections must be held within 90 days according to the constitution.
He added: “Elections will be held in Pakistan in November, however, in certain circumstances, the Election Commission can delay the election for one to two months not more than that”.
Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said the decision on the caretaker prime minister's name will be made by 10:00 pm on Tuesday (today).
Mutahidda Qoumi Movement (MQM) has nominated Kamran Tesori, while Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will also give one or two names, he told.
Sanaullah added that everyone has agreed on the census, there is a constitutional requirement that there should be constituencies. The process of constituencies should be completed by December.
If the constituencies are done, then the election will be held in the third week of February or the first week of March, added Rana.
