PM Shehbaz says May 9 was conspiracy against COAS Asim Munir
Shehbaz said that the proper response of the security organizations prevented this conspiracy.
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said a conspiracy was planned against the state and COAS Gen Syed Asim Munir and security institutions of Pakistan on May 9.
Shehbaz said that the proper response of the security organizations prevented this conspiracy.
Speaking at the cabinet's farewell meeting, the PM highlighted that his tenure as prime minister was the shortest in the history of the nation and that the National Assembly had trusted him on April 11, 2022.
The recent flood that devastated Pakistan was brought to light by the chief executive. During the flood, the four provinces worked constantly, and Rs 80 billion was distributed through the Benazir Income Support Program. However, complications arose quickly after the government joined office.
The PM appreciated the leadership in Sindh, noting that the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto and the Chief Minister of Sindh worked nonstop throughout the storm and that no province was treated unfairly during the flood relief effort.
The PM said that there were many causes for inflation and transferred the burden to the past government's four years of neglect since the PTI administration had done a lot of damage to Pakistan's reputation both internally and externally.
He expressed his gratitude to Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Asif Zardari, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, and Nawaz Sharif for their unwavering support throughout this difficult time.
Shehbaz appreciated Ishaq Dar's work in bringing the IMF program back on track, saying it would not have been possible without his honest efforts.
The prime minister emphasized the tragic events of May 9 and said they will go down in history as the worst conspiracy against the nation.
