Shahid Khaqan criticizes PDM govt
Khaqan urged the National Assembly to regain its credibility and integrity because it incomplete without opposition.
Islamabad: Former prime minister and PML-N stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi criticized Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government in the farewell session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
According to reports, senior PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi claimed that everyone was aware of the events that occurred in the National Assembly over the previous five years.
Khaqan urged the National Assembly to regain its credibility and integrity because it incomplete without opposition.
Shahid Khaqan criticized the PDM government, calling it shameful for them to have passed 40 bills in the previous week, none of which were for the welfare of the populace. Such proposals should have been blocked, he continued, by the Speaker of the National Assembly.
The salaries of National Assembly members, he claimed, cannot even cover the cost of their vehicles. Despite this, it is widely believed that all lawmakers are corrupt.
