NAB secures transit remand of Parvez Elahi
The officials of the anti-graft body will produce the former Punjab chief minister and PTI president before the relevant court in Lahore tomorrow.
Rawalpindi: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday secured transit remand of former Punjab Chief Minister and PTI President Chaudhary Parvez Elahi in corruption case.
The NAB officials produced him before Duty Magistrate Khalid Hayat as they arrested him shortly after he was set free from Adiala jail.
The officials of the anti-graft body asked the court to allow his transit remands, so that they could produce him before the relevant court in Lahore.
After hearing arguments, the court reserved the verdict and later allowed his transit remand. The former Punjab chief minister would be produced before the court in Lahore tomorrow.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the former Punjab Chief Minister, was taken from Camp Jail Lahore to Adiala Jail on July 19. He was placed under 3-day physical remand and the remand orders were issued by Deputy Commissioner Lahore for a duration of 30 days.
Earlier, he was accused of financial irregularities and land grabbing. The NAB Lahore is conducting investigations into cases beyond assets and other allegations against him.
