According to Afghan media reports, the moral police of Taliban arrested six people for playing music at a private event in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan.
The spokesman of the Taliban government, Abdul Rahman Hanif, said on Friday that six arrested people were playing music in a private event, responding to which the police took action.
He further said that the detained persons will be sent to court.
It is pertinent to note that since gaining the power two years ago, Taliban government had banned music in the country.
In July, hundreds of musical instruments seized by the Ethics Department from Herat and various districts of Afghanistan were set on fire.
The ethics department said the sale of musical instruments is prohibited and the seller will be punished.
