The authority discovered and destroyed 8,000 kilos of fungus-infected products.

Rawalpindi: The Punjab Food Authority is cracking down on manufacturers of unsafe and unhealthy food.
During an inspection in Rawalpindi, they discovered and subsequently destroyed 8,000 kilos of fungus-infected pickles.
The food safety team targeted a pickle manufacturing factory on Chuck Bailey Road.
Officials from the food authority uncovered the distribution of these hazardous pickles under various brand names.
Further investigations revealed the presence of harmful oil, acid, and substandard spices at the facility.
It was also discovered that chemical flavors and colors were being used to mask the taste of the fungus-infected pickles.
In response to these findings, the Punjab Food Authority has registered a forgery case against the factory owner.
The destroyed pickles were valued at 1.8 million rupees.
