Power theft operation, Rs4.59 billion received from across Pakistan
The statistics from October 22 to October 29 show that more than 5448 arrests were made during the operation.
Islamabad: The caretaker government, security forces and military leadership took strict measures against electricity thieves across Pakistan for the sake of the country's integrity and the stability of economy.
According to details, following the government's orders, an operation against electricity thieves was launched across the country from September.
The statistics from October 22 to October 29 show that fines of about 4.59 billion rupees were collected from across the country and more than 5448 arrests were made.
5241 electricity thieves were arrested from Islamabad and Punjab out of which 3217 were booked in the region.
While 34 were arrested from Sindh and 173 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the cases were registered against 215 in Sindh and 325 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the operation, a fine of Rs1.91 billion was collected from Punjab and Islamabad, Rs1.08 billion from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rs1.39 billion from Sindh and Rs0.21 billion from Balochistan.
Since September 01, fines of more than Rs32 billion have been collected and more than 24 arrests have been made across the country.
The caretaker government and the military leadership are committed to the complete elimination of electricity theft from across the country.
