Sher Afzal Marwat set free from Kot Lakhpat jail
The PTI leaders and especially the lawyers reach Kot Lakhpat to receive Sher Afzal Marwat from the jail.
Lahore: Sher Afzal Marwat, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore, challenging his detention under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered his release, stating that his arrest was politically motivated and lacked evidence of any illegal activity. Justice Shehram Sarwar nullified the detention, emphasizing the need to uphold justice standards.
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) advocated for Marwat's release, condemning his arrest as a violation of human rights.
