Pakistan reports steep decline in Covid-19 deaths, cases
Islamabad: Pakistan has recorded a gradual decline in new COVID-related new infections and positivity rate.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,060 cases of coronavirus were reported while 57 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 20,308.
The total number of cases has reached 903,599.
As many as 820,374 patients have recovered from the disease with no critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 334,764 in the province with 9,784 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 309,647 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,920.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 129,883 in the province with 3,950 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 24,583 confirmed cases while 270 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 18,808 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 532. On the other hand, there are 5,500 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 80,418 cases in the capital city while 745 people have lost their lives.
