Contempt of ECP: LHC adjourns petitions against Imran
The full bench of the Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing on the petitions indefinitely.
Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday adjourned the hearing on the petitions of contempt of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) filed against the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for an indefinite period.
According to the details, a hearing was held in the LHC on the petitions filed against former Prime Minister for contempt of ECP. A three-member bench of LHC headed by Justice Alia Neelam was to hear the petitions.
The full bench of the Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing on the petitions indefinitely.
The hearing could not proceed due to the absence of head of the full bench, Justice Alia Neelam. The next hearing will be determined by the office of the LHC.
The court has called for arguments on the jurisdiction of the petitions.
It is pertinent to note that PTI founder Imran Khan has challenged the jail trial in the High Court in the contempt of Election Commission case.
