Hamid Khan rejects any other Chief Justice except Mansoor Shah
Senior lawyer says they would not accept any court that may come
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Senator Hamid Khan has maintained that only Justice Mansoor Ali Shah would be recognised as chief justice and no one else.
Talking to media at the Lahore High Court (LHC), he said that the national convention slated for September 19, would reject the proposed constitutional amendment.
“We would not accept any court that may come,” Hamid Khan said, referring to the set up of a proposed constitutional court by the incumbent coalition government.
He stressed that they only recognised the Supreme Court and they would not accept limitation in its constitutional standing.
Lahore High Court Bar President Asad Manzoor stated that the cabinet and Supreme Court must work in its jurisdiction.
He claimed that judges were being influenced and a building was being set up in the apex court.
Asad Manzoor announced that lawyers across the country had been called for the LHC convention scheduled for tomorrow.
He insisted that lawyers were standing behind judges and the constitution.
