Contempt of ECP case: Hearing against Imran, Fawad postponed
Commission adjourned the hearing of the case till October 9
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed the hearing of the contempt of Election Commission and Commissioner case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry till October 9.
A four-member bench headed by Member Sindh Nisar Durrani heard the case, Fawad Chaudhry and founder PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry appeared before the commission.
During the hearing, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry told the court that they had ordered a video link in the case against Imran Khan, and he has the response of Fawad Chaudhry's show cause.
On this the member commission remarked that we ordered video link attendance from the jail, did it have any effect? Why the jail authorities did not respond, they should be asked.
He further said that if they cannot facilitate the video link, they call the accused from the jail.
On this, Fawad Chaudhry said that if you threaten to call Mr Khan, everything will be fine. The member commission remarked that if nothing happens, then we go to jail for a hearing.
Later, the commission adjourned the hearing of the case till October 9.
