Chunian: Two people died after consuming poisonous cannabis in Chunian city of Punjab while the condition of two people became critical.
In Kanganpur, a suburb of Chunian, two people died after consuming poisonous cannabis on Jeeway Shah bridge, while two people were referred to Lahore due to their serious condition.
According to the police, the deceased people have been identified as 60-year-old Ashiq and 40-year-old Ismail, while among those who are in critical condition are 35-year-old Riaz and his father 50-year-old Barkat alias Bhola.
On receiving the information, the rescue team shifted both the bodies to the local hospital.
As soon as the incident was reported, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Iftikhar Awan and Station House Officer (SHO) of Kanganpur police station Aslam Bhatti reached the spot and started the operation while further investigation was going on.
