'Relief' in bills for consuming excessive electricity in winter
Relief of Rs12 per unit was proposed to consumers who use excess electricity
Islamabad: The government has prepared a winter package plan to use extra electricity in winter and spring.
According to the media reports, the winter package designed for the use of additional electricity in winter has been proposed to start in January.
It is also reported that the government has planned to increase the electricity demand from 8,000 to 15,000 megawatts, while a relief of Rs12 per unit was proposed to consumers who use excess electricity.
Officials added that this initiative will reduce the burden of capacity payment charges and thousands of closed factories will be able to run with the additional power consumption of all kinds of consumers.
The reports suggested that the legal matters have been finalized in this regard, while the consultation with chambers including All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has also been completed.
