Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to declare a national emergency to deport illegal immigrants.
In a statement, Trump said he would use military assets to deport people on the largest scale in US history.
During the election campaign, Trump repeatedly said he would deport all illegal immigrants.
He also indicated that those illegal immigrants who are involved in a crime would be removed first.
