IHC approves Zardari’s bail till July 28
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved pre-arrest bail of former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in New York property case.
According to details, a two-member bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Amir Farooq heard the case.
The IHC while issuing order has summoned response from National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The court has also ordered PPP leader to submit indemnity bonds worth Rs. 0.5 million.
On July 05, Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was issued a fresh notice by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in New York apartment case.
After anti-corruption watchdog served him a notice, the former president moved a bail petition in the IHC.
Attaching his medical report with the bail petition, the PPP leader had requested IHC to grant him pre-arrest bail until the trial of the case is concluded.
Asif Ali Zardari is facing a number of NAB references stemming from the fake bank accounts scam. He is presently out on bail in all these cases.
