COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,590 new cases, 21 deaths
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 1,590 new COVID cases and 21 deaths in last 24 hours as third wave of deadly virus rages across the country.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,590 cases of coronavirus were reported while 21 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,618.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 976,867.
As many as 914,605 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,181 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 348,509 in the province with 10,832 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 348,385 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,613.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 139,593 in the province with 4,365 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 28,321 confirmed cases while 317 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 21,256 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 595. On the other hand, there are 6,972 cases in GB with 111 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 83,831 cases in the capital city while 785 people have lost their lives.
