Sheikh Rasheed vows to solve Afghan envoy's daughter kidnapping case in 72 hours
Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Sunday said that investigation into the abduction and release of the Afghan Ambassador's daughter is underway and culprits behind this incident will soon be arrested.
The Interior minister while addressing a news conference delved into details of the case.
“The kidnapping case of the Afghanistan ambassador's daughter is expected to be solved within 72 hours.”
He told that police have already registered a case on the complaint of the Afghan Ambassador's daughter Silsila Alikhel against the kidnapping at 2:00 am, as per PM Imran Khan's directives.
While PM Imran Khan has given very clear directions that the culprits involved in this case should be arrested at the earliest.
Sharing the initial details of the incident, he told the media that the Afghan ambassador's daughter had left her home on foot and arrived at a market.
Federal Interior Minister said "From the market, she took a taxi to Khadda Market for shopping," he disclosed. "We were able to know about this with the help of the Safe City Cameras," he added.
The minister said from Khadda Market, the ambassador's daughter took another taxi to Rawalpindi.
"We also have footage of her getting out of a taxi at a Rawalpindi shopping mall," he added.
Rasheed said she then took a third taxi to arrive at Daman-e-Koh.
"The only gap that we are facing is that how was she able to arrive at Daman-e-Koh from Rawalpindi," he added.
The minister said authorities will investigate how the ambassador's daughter arrived from Rawalpindi to Daman-e-Koh and hopefully by evening (today), more missing links of the case can be put together to provide a clearer picture.
The minister said authorities have also interrogated the driver of the third taxi that the ambassador's daughter used to commute, adding that she could have gone straight to F-6 but chose instead, to go to the F-9 area in Islamabad.
Sheikh Rashid said Indian media while unleashing negative propaganda against Pakistan, misused this incident to misguide the international community.
He said the media would be apprised about the findings as soon as the investigations are completed.
