Pandemic-hit Oscars to be broadcasted from multiple locations
Los Angeles: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed that this year's Oscars will be broadcast live and ‘in-person’ in April, from multiple locations amid novel coronavirus.
The Academy Awards in recent decades have taken place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
"To create the in-person show our global audience wants to see, the ceremony will broadcast live from multiple locations, including the landmark Dolby Theatre," said spokesperson.
They added, "The 93rd Academy Awards will be an Oscars like none other, while prioritizing the public health and safety of all those who will participate".
No further details regarding the ceremony disclosed.
However, it is not the first time the Oscars will take place at multiple locations as back in 1953 the ceremony was televised while proceedings were split between Los Angeles and New York.
Oscars 2021 will take place on April 25 and nominees will be announced on March 15.
The ceremony will air live on American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide
