Pakistan continues to report increase in coronavirus cases and deaths amid concerns of fourth wave owing to Indian delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,158 cases of coronavirus were reported while 40 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,928.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 998,609.
As many as 922,929 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,525 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 351,592 in the province with 10,906 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 361,160 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,784.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 141,288 in the province with 4,402 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 29,301 confirmed cases while 320 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 22,538 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 606. On the other hand, there are 7,551 cases in GB with 122 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 85,179 cases in the capital city while 788 people have lost their lives.
