Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry has said that stability in Afghanistan is linked with economic growth in the region.

While addressing the Pakistan-Afghanistan Youth Forum in Islamabad on Wednesday, the information minister said that peace and stability in Afghanistan will generate economic activities for the whole region provides accessibility to the Central Asia and the European Union (EU) markets.
“Pakistan has always called for peace in Afghanistan and it is vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan that all Afghan groups should sit together to create a consensus for a broad-based and inclusive government there,” he said.
Fawad further said that Pakistan can play a limited role and ultimately it is the choice and right of the people of Afghanistan to evolve a formula for a political settlement to establish durable peace and stability in their country.
“Peace in Afghanistan is extremely essential for enhancing accessibility of Central Asian Republics to Pakistan's port of Gwadar. We can materialize the idea of laying railway line from Gwadar to Uzbekistan as it will connect China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with the European Union,” he said.
The Minister further said that besides security, both Pakistan and Afghanistan should work collectively in cultural domain as well.
“Pakistan is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in sectors like film, drama, and literature,” he added.
