Noor Mukadam murder case: Zahir Jaffer’s remand extended by three days

According to details, a hearing of Noor Mukadam murder case was held today during which the judge asked prosecution to state their arguments to which public prosecutor Sajid Cheema responded that CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained and Zahir had to be taken to Lahore for a forensic exam of the CCTV footage

Following that the public prosecutor requested court to grant an extension in Zahir's remand for another three days.

Zahir’s lawyer, while objecting the extension in remand, said that if any forensic exam is to be done, it should be done by taking photos and no further physical remand is required.

"If a photo was enough, we would not have asked for extension in remand," the plaintiff's lawyer responded.

Following the conclusion of arguments, the court granted a three-day extension in the remand of Zahir.

On July 20, Noor Mukadam was slaughtered at a house in F-7/4. The police arrested a man, identified as Zahir Jaffer, from the murder site. The officer familiar with the case said that the suspect was a friend of the deceased.

Following the incident, a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against Zahir at the Kohsar Police Station

On July 25, police arrested the parents of suspect Zahir Jaffer for hiding evidence and being complicit in the crime.
