Islamabad: A rare and awe-inspiring total lunar eclipse, also known as a "Blood Moon," will be visible across Pakistan on the night of September 7-8, 2025. The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced that the eclipse will begin at 8:28 p.m. PST, with the partial eclipse starting at 9:27 p.m. and the total eclipse phase commencing at 10:31 p.m.

Eclipse Timeline:

Penumbral Eclipse Begins: 8:28 p.m. PST (September 7)

Partial Eclipse Starts: 9:27 p.m. PST

Total Eclipse Begins: 10:31 p.m. PST

Maximum Eclipse: 11:12 p.m. PST

Total Eclipse Ends: 11:53 p.m. PST

Eclipse Concludes: 1:55 a.m. PST (September 8)

During the eclipse, the Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow, taking on a reddish-orange hue due to sunlight filtering through the atmosphere. This phenomenon makes the Moon appear like a "Blood Moon." The eclipse will be visible in Asia, Africa, and parts of Europe, with clear visibility expected in most regions of Pakistan, weather permitting.
