Winds of 40 to 55 kilometers per hour are expected in coastal areas of Sindh

Karachi: The cyclone ‘Shakti,’ forming in the Arabian Sea, has gained further strength and is currently located approximately 390 kilometers southwest of Karachi.
The cyclone has intensified but is expected to gradually weaken after reaching its peak intensity.
The Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms accompanied by rain and lightning in the coastal districts of Sindh. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in various areas of the Karachi division.
The department further stated that the cyclone is likely to intensify over the next 24 hours before gradually weakening. Due to rough sea conditions, fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into deep waters.
Winds of 40 to 55 kilometers per hour are expected in the coastal areas of Sindh, with wind speeds near the cyclone’s center potentially reaching 110 to 125 kilometers per hour.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that sea conditions are expected to remain extremely rough and dangerous for the next 36 hours. Relevant authorities have been instructed to remain on high alert.
