Islamabad: International Monetary Fund (IMF) is grateful for Pakistan’s assistance in the evacuation of its staff and their families from Kabul.


As per details, the Managing Director IMF Kristalina Georgieva has left a note for Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, thanking him for the ‘safe and swift evacuation’ of its personnel from Afghanistan.
Expressing her gratitude, Georgieva thanked Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Reza Baqir for their contribution.
Pakistan’s efforts were at the highest level and were absolutely critical to the safe and swift evacuation of IMF staff and their families from Afghanistan, said the Managing Director.
Kristalina Georgieva also said IMF looks forward to continuing its cooperation with Pakistan.
