‘We can’t remove masks yet’; Dr. Faisal urges public to follow COVID SOPs
Islamabad: Special Assistant on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan Monday urged the nation to wear masks and follow coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to control the spread of virus.
While addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today, he said we cannot remove masks yet.
The Special Assistant said strengthening health institutions will benefit the coming generations.
Pakistan is witnessing daily surge in COVID-19 cases with authorities linking the upswing to the deadly fourth wave. Today country’s positivity rate is on 5.62%.
As per National Command and Control Center (NCOC), Pakistan conducted a total of 53,158 tests in the last 24 hours.
Around 2,988 cases of coronavirus were reported while 67 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 26,787.
As per the command centre, total confirmed cases are 1,207,508 whereas 5,066 are under critical care.
