Two policemen martyred in Peshawar's Hayatabad operation

Peshawar: Two policemen have embraced martyrdom in a search operation in Peshawar today (Wednesday).
According to details, the security forces have launched a raid in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area on a tip off to arrest the fugitives. During the operation, the suspects opened fire on Police contingent. As a result, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Riaz Khan and Constable Jaffer martyred.
The funeral prayers of the martyred ASI and constable have been offered at Police Lines. Funeral prayers were attended by senior officers including Inspector General of Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Moazzam Jah Ansari.
IG Moazzam Jahan Ansari told that seven fugitives have been arrested while weapons have also been recovered from their possession.
Police officials said that teams have been formed to arrest the fugitives and raids are being carried out at various places.
