Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that the nation should wait for the address of the prime minister.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has called a meeting of his economic team on Sunday. During the meeting, he will discuss the strategy of his address to the nation.
The economic team will apprise the prime minister about the current situation.
The prime minister has directed the economic team to stay in Islamabad.
On Thursday, after Putin announced a military operation against Ukraine, oil prices pushed past $100 mark. US Brent was trading at $104.25 (or 7.65% high) per barrel. WTI crude was at $98.89 (7.37% high).
The Russia-Ukraine crisis has fanned concerns over supplies of key commodities including wheat and metals just as demand rallies owing to the reopening of economies after pandemic lockdowns.
Earlier, the price of per litre petrol in Pakistan, for the first time, crossed the Rs150 mark after the federal government approved an Rs12.03 hike. The commodity now costs Rs159.86 per litre.
