Islamic calendar starts and ends with 'sacrifice': Allama Raza
The eminent religious scholar who will lead Eid prayers at Lahore’s Bilal Gunj-based religious seminary Jamia Rasoolia Sherazia at 7: 15 am says that people should sacrifice their egos along with the sacrificial animals.
Lahore: Eminent scholar and religious seminary Jamia Rasoolia Sherazia’s custodian Allama Raza-e-Mustafa Naqshbandi urged the people to sacrifice their egos along with the sacrificial animals on this eid.
Allama Raza-e-Mustafa said that Eid-ul-Adha is all about sincerity based on pure intentions for the sake of Almighty Allah, and everything is meaningless if there is ego or anything like that in one’s mind or thoughts.
He stated that there is a big lesson for the humankind in Eid-ul-Adha as it emphasized upon the “sacrifice” for the sake of Almighty Allah.
“Hazrat Ibrahim—[Peace Be Upon Him] is the friend of Allah Almighty and he made a great sacrifice, and it is clearly mentioned in the Holy Quran,” said Allama Raza-e-Mustafa, adding that the Muslims should remember that great sacrifice.
He said, "It is a philosophy and words cannot explain it so easily,".
“I believe you can’t achieve anything, and particularly, you can’t get closer to Almighty Allah without sacrifices. The big sacrifice is that you just be sincere to Almighty Allah and his Prophet Hazrat Mohammad [Peace Be Upon Him].
Zil-Hajj is the last month of the Islamic Calendar and Muharram is the first month of it and it shows that Islamic calendar starts and ends with 'sacrifice'.
He stated that Eid-ul-Adha prayer would be offered at 7: 15 am at Jamia Rasoolia Sherazia—the seminary which is located in Bilal Gunj area of the provincial capital.
“We have set the time for Eid prayer and it is 7: 15 am,” said Allama Raza-e-Mustafa Naqshbandi while making announcement for the timing of Eid prayer on Eid day.
Jamia Rasoolia Sherazia is an historic religious seminary established by popular scholar and great cleric of his time Hazrat Shaik-ul-Hadit Allama Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi [a.r]. The Jamia since its beginning till today played an important role in the service of Islam and produced countless scholars in Islamic teachings. It also runs many welfare projects in the area to provide different facilities to the marginalized people.
It may be mentioned here that the nation will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday with religious fervor to commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
The day will dawn with special prayers in mosques for well-being of Ummah and progress, prosperity and security of the country.
Eid prayers' congregations will be held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages.
Ulema, in their Eid sermons, will highlight the significance of the philosophy of great sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
People will offer sacrifice of animals to follow the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
Federal and Provincial governments have chalked out an elaborate security arrangement across the country to ward off untoward incidents.
Civic authorities of different cities and towns have also made special arrangements for disposal of offal and other solid wastes during the Eid days.
Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television and private media will air special programs in connection with Eid-ul-Azha while newspapers will publish special supplements highlighting the importance of Eid-ul-Azha and sacrifice of the animals.
