The spokesperson of Rescue teams said that the rescue personnel have been alerted after the rain in the cities.


Islamabad: Several areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been inundated due to heavy rain in the early morning (Wednesday).
According to the Meteorological Department, 190 mm of rain was recorded in Rawalpindi since late night, while 102 mm of rain was recorded in Golra, 72 mm in Chaklala and 188 mm in Shamsabad.
The water level reached 16 feet at Katarian and 13 feet at Gwalmandi in Nala Lai after heavy rain.
After visiting various areas of the city including Nala Lai, Rawalpindi Commissioner said that there are teams with machinery for drainage in the low-lying areas.
Commissioner Rawalpindi stated that all the departments are on high alert. Rain emergency is in effect in the city and the hospitals' emergencies have also been alerted.
The spokesperson of Rescue teams said that the rescue personnel have been alerted after the rain in the cities.
According to the spokesman, rescue personnel have been deployed around Nala Lai. Teams are present in Katarian, Gwalmandi, Swan Pul and other low-lying areas.
Rescue spokesperson said that team is ready to deal with all kinds of situations, in case of any emergency, report immediately on Rescue Helpline.
The Met Department said there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Kashmir today (Wednesday).
The possibility that there may be clouds in Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Tharparkar, Khairpur and surrounding areas in Sindh, meteorological department indicated.
