PIMs, Polyclinic, NIRAM, and Federal Government Hospital are deprived of MRI facilities.

Islamabad: Patients coming for treatment were deprived of the facility of an MRI due to the non-availability of MRI machines in 4 major government hospitals of Islamabad.
The patients visiting Islamabad's Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Polyclinic, National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NERM), and Federal Government Hospital are facing difficulties.
The Ministry of Health of Pakistan reported that MRI machines were available in Pumza and Niram hospitals in Islamabad, but the machine at Pumza Hospital broke down last year.
While the MRI machine of Niram broke down 3 months ago, after which both hospitals were deprived of the facility of MRI.
The Letter of Credit (LC) was opened in April last year for the MRI machine of PIMS while the supply order was issued to the firm for the new MRI machine of Niram Hospital.
According to the sources, the Polyclinic Hospital is not providing any MRI facilities for the patients.
Yet efforts are underway to purchase MRI machines with Japanese assistance.
On the other hand, the Federal Government Hospital doesn't have MRI facilities either.
