Technical glitch strands Canadian PM in India during G20 Summit

Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who had traveled to India for the G20 summit, found himself forced to extend his stay in New Delhi due to a mechanical glitch.

Trudeau arrived in India for the G20 Leaders' Summit on Friday, with plans to return to Canada after laying a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial on Sunday.
However, a mechanical glitch kept him grounded in India overnight.
In New Delhi, the Canadian High Commission issued a statement referencing a statement from Trudeau's office that the Canadian Air Force, operating the aircraft, had informed the delegation that they were facing "technical challenges."
They stated that these issues cannot be resolved overnight, and their delegation would remain in India until alternative arrangements are made.
Canadian news outlets have reported that it remains unclear when the delegation will be able to return to Canada, with the Airbus aircraft's issues still unresolved.
Trudeau's presence at the G20 Conference had been of lesser significance amid the ongoing tensions between Canada and host nation India, given the strained relations between Canada and right-wing Sikh nationalists in northern India.
