He addressed a Ulema Convention in Tamergarh and said that JI would start its protest movement from Peshawar.

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq announced on Sunday that his party would hold sit-ins in major cities to protest against the skyrocketing prices and the policies being implemented by the government under the auspices of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from September 18.
According to details, the head of JI stated that if the government did not lower the price of electricity and fuel, JI would also call for a wheel jam strike.
He addressed a Ulema Convention in Tamergarh and said that JI would start its protest movement from Peshawar, where it would hold a sit-in outside the Governor House on September 18.
He said that the next phases of the movement would include sit-ins in Lahore on September 21, in Quetta on September 24, and in Karachi on October 6.
Siraj lambasted all political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the PDM's allies, for cooperating with the IMF and adhering to its dictates. He claimed that America obeyed the IMF's orders and that both the present interim administration and the preceding governments were IMF operatives.
He claimed that Pakistan has several alternatives for producing inexpensive electricity from solar, hydro, wind, and atomic sources, but the administration was not interested in helping the populace. If JI won the election, he said that it could offer electricity at a cost of 6 rupees per unit.
Siraj asserted that JI was a morally upright party and that none of its members or leaders were associated with any scandals or cases of corruption like the Panama Papers.
