PM's adviser Ahmed Cheema acquitted in assets beyond means case

Lahore: The Caretaker Prime MinisterAnwaar-ul-Haq Kakar's advisor Ahmed Khan Cheema Friday acquitted in the assets beyond income case.

According to the details, Judge Malik Ali Zulqarnain Awan of the Accountability Court Lahore released a protective decision while accepting the plea of acquittal of Ahad Cheema in the assets excessive of income case.

It is pertinent to note that the Accountability Court Lahore had reserved its decision on the plea of acquittal of Ahad Cheema in the last hearing.

Recently, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued a clean chit to Cheema in the reference of assets in excess of income.

According to the NAB report, there is no reference of assets in excess of income against Ahad Cheema. All of his assets are in line with his income. His alleged no-name built properties from their personal income.

Accountability Bureau said that the accounts of Sadia Mansoor, Mansoor Ahmed and Nazia Ashraf are not unknown accounts of Ahad Cheema. According to the reinvestigation, the accused’s total income is Rs213 million and expenses are Rs131 million.

NAB added in its report that during the re-investigation, Ahad Cheema provided his income and profit records to NAB after which the records submitted by him were verified which proved correct.

The NAB appealed the accountability court to decide on the plea of acquittal of Ahad Cheema in accordance with the law.
