Lahore: Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) leader Rana Aftab Ahmed has declined to accept the chief minister Punjab’s elections.
According to the details, Rana Aftab was talking to media outside the Punjab assembly. He called the assembly as a vendor shop.
SIC’s leader stated that he wanted to talk on point of order but the speaker made him zip-up. He inquired that what does the speaker think of himself that he has the grip over law.
He demanded that a safe way must be provided to Mian Aslam Iqbal and Ahmar Rasheed Bhatti. This is not a democratic election for chief minister’s post.
Rana Aftab said that they have treated the members as bribes. The party’s legal committee will sit and look into the matter. Today was the day of democracy but the speaker makes it political.
He affirmed that his party was not going beyond the democratic limits yet members are still at the assembly’s gate.
“Our number would cross the line of 140 if this chief minister elections would be done in a democratic way. The rules of Punjab assembly have violated today (Monday). Today’s behavior of speaker is not good,” he added.
