Islamabad: In the federal budget, an initial proposal of 15 to 20 percent increase in salaries has been presented.

According to media reports, there is a proposal to increase the monetisation policy of the bureaucracy from 40,000 to 60,0000 rupees. While for officers up to grade 20, the monetization is proposed to be increased from Rs65,000 to Rs105,000.

It is proposed to increase the monetisation policy of Rs75,000 to Rs120,000 for Grade 21 officers, while the proposal to increase the monetization of Grade 22 officers from Rs95,000 to Rs155,000 is under consideration.

Reports suggest that a 10 percent increase in the salaries of employees from grade 1 to 22 will have an impact of about 80 billion rupees.

There is a demand for 200 percent increase in medical and conveyance allowance for employees of grades 1 to 16, reported.

The report also added that the employees of Grade 1 to Grade 16 scale are getting Rs1800 Conveyance Allowance and Rs1500 Medical Allowance. While Grade 17 and 18 officers are currently getting Rs5000 Conveyance Allowance, for Grade 17 to 18, which has been proposed to rise by 200 percent.

Reports said that the employees of scale 1 to 16 got 25 and 15 percent disparity allowance in 2021 and 2022, it is also proposed to continue disparity allowance to reduce the difference in salaries of provincial and federal employees.

The proposals to increase the salaries and allowances are in the initial stages. The final decision will be taken by the Prime Minister in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet, reportedly.
