PTI condemns government's decision to ban the party
The decision of banning the PTI was an attempt to divert attention from specific issues
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have condemned the government's decision to ban the party, calling it a diversion from issues like inflation and specific seat allocations.
In a press conference, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali, along with senior leaders Umar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, criticized the government's move. Calling it the "form 47 government," they said that this move was an attempt to divert attention from specific seat allocations. “Today’s press conference was the admission of defeat and a clear surrender,” said the PTI leaders.
PTI chairman Gohar Ali Khan said that ruling party’s leaders’ press conference was held to divert attention from rising inflation. “Supreme Court of Pakistan has recognized PTI's status as a legitimate political party of the country,” he emphasized.
PTI Secretary-General Umar Ayub highlighted the brewing tensions in Murree over the past three days, questioning whether the PPP and MQM support a civil martial law. He pointed out that inflation was at its peak, with the cost of electricity soaring from 17 rupees per unit during PTI's government to 85 rupees per unit now, and chicken prices exceeding 500 rupees per kilogram.
Ayub accused the PML-N of plotting to distract from inflation by orchestrating a press conference involving Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz. He criticized PML-N for attacking the Supreme Court and wanting a civil martial law instead of democracy. He also mentioned PML-N's rejection of electronic voting machines and allowing phone tapping, calling Ata Tarar's press conference a blatant violation of the Supreme Court's decision. Ayub stated that PML-N poses a national security threat and expressed confidence that PTI will emerge victorious.
While calling it a puppet government, Shibli Faraz accused government was using all possible tactics to remove PTI from the political scene, including managing the election tribunal. “The current government cannot politically compete with PTI,” he emphasized. He also condemned the disrespect shown to Bushra Bibi and vowed to continue PTI's political struggle to ensure the protection of public rights and the country's stability.
