Constitutional court would help to determine the suo motu powers under Article 184

Islamabad: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said on Wednesday that the constitutional court will have representation from all federating units.
Addressing a seminar in Islamabad, organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), minister said that this court would help to determine the suo motu powers under Article 184.
“PML-N and PPP had decided to bring judicial reforms as per the Charter of Democracy signed by both the parties,” he said, adding that they had decided to take forward the incomplete agenda of 18th amendment and judicial reforms are also part of PML-N’s manifesto.
Tarar stated that PPP also wanted to do judicial reforms and they had started working on it. “It is prerogative of parliament to do legislation and constitutional courts do exist in many countries,” minister continued.
PPP leader Farooq H Naik said that the constitution was not a dead but a lived document, so it is possible to make amendments in it whenever needed. “Formation of constitutional court is the need of time,” he said, adding that the Objective Resolution also had emphasized to protect the judiciary.
