ICC Women's Cricket World Cup: Bangladesh crush Pakistan by 9 runs
Pakistan has slumped to their fourth defeat in the event.
Dhaka: In the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's World Cup, Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 9 runs at Hamilton, New Zealand on Monday.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 234 for seven in 50 overs. In reply, the national team scored 225 for 9 in 50 overs.
Previously, Bangladesh conceded defeat to South Africa and hosts New Zealand in the first two matches of the tournament.
Bangladesh registered their first win in the ongoing ICC Women's Cricket World Cup by beating Pakistan.
The bottom of the table clash saw a thrilling finale as Sidra Ameen's century went in vain with Pakistan unable to chase down the 235-run target set by opposite team.
The victory sees Bangladesh keep their semifinals hopes alive, while Pakistan's chances look all but over as they languish at the bottom of the points table.
Earlier, a fine half-century from Fargana Hoque helped Bangladesh to their highest total at a Women's World Cup and also their biggest ever in an One Day International (ODI) contest.
