Ottawa: The renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil Tuesday suffered heart attack and was shifted to a hospital in Canada — as he is currently in Canada for a trip, his son Yousaf Jamil confirmed.
Turning to Twitter, Yousaf Jamil wrote: “Father is currently in Canada and has been shifted to the hospital due to a heart attack. By the grace of Allah, his condition is much better now.”
Requesting scholar’s friends and followers to pray for his speedy recovery, Yousaf said that May Allah Almighty bless his father with perfect health.

On the other hand, he also posted a video message on Tariq Jamil’s YouTube channel and stated that his father felt pain in the chest at 1pm local time (3am in Canada) and was immediately shifted to the hospital.
He added that the treatments had been successful and his condition was stable, requesting social media users to avoid spreading rumors regarding scholar’s health.
He further added, “The fact that we are here (in Pakistan) and he is away is worrisome for us. We request you all to pray for his health”.
It is pertinent to mention that Islamic scholar had suffered the heart attack in 2019 also and had a successful treatment at a private hospital in Lahore.
He also suffered COVID-19 in December 2020 but fully recovered for the contagious disease.
