Abu Dhabi: Dubai International Airport had issued a travel alert for passengers travelling from December 28 to January 3 due to busiest holiday season.
Dubai airport is expecting approximately two million travelers during winter holidays and New Year season.
It is expected that daily up to 245,000 passengers will enter Dubai airport till January 3, and January 2 will be the busiest with 257,000 travelers.
Dubai airport officials stated: “We are closely coordinating with airlines, control authorities, commercials and service partners for convenient arrival and departure experience for passengers”.
The authorities had issued an advisory of easy steps to control the holiday rush:
1. Use smart gates for fast passport control process.
2. Plan extra time to reach the airport to avoid expected traffic jams.
3. Use online and self-service options.
4. People traveling from Terminal 3 should use Emirate's early and self-service check-in facilities.
5. Use Metro service to travel to and from the airport. The public transport stops at Terminal 1 and 3 and would be operational for 24 hours from December 31 to January 1.
6. Only public transport and authorized vehicles will be allowed at the pickup and drop off entrances of the airport. Therefore, the friends and family of the passengers are directed to use car parks and valet.
The average numbers of daily travelers of Dubai have risen back to pre-pandemic level that makes the latest seasonal peak one of the busiest since 2019.
Pertinently, the month of December had been exceptionally busy for Dubai due to multiple factors and one of them includes FIFA World Cup event in Doha.
