Resigned from party post for Maryam’s space: Khaqan
He cleared that he had resigned from the position only, not the party.
Islamabad: Former Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Friday clarified on the issue of resignation from the party stating that he had resigned from his position as vice president to give space to Maryam Nawaz.
While talking to the media in Islamabad, Khaqan Abbasi said that he is with the party and will always be with the same party as leaving the party is a highly extreme step.
He stated: “Maryam Nawaz has come to leadership position, she needs space,” adding that, if he would be there, differences might develop which is not suitable for anyone. When new generation comes, senior people have to observe new role.
