Australia win Women’s ICC T20 World Cup for sixth time
Australia won by 19 runs.
Canberra: Australia have won the Women’s ICC T20 World Cup for the sixth time, defeating South Africa in the final by 19 runs at Cape Town, last night.
They have now won six of the eight T20 World Cups played -- in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2023.
Chasing a victory target of 157 runs, South Africa made 137 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Earlier, winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Australia posted 156 for 6 in allotted 20 overs.
