President asked to send reference to SC against caretaker Punjab, KP govts: Fawad
The PTI leader says the respect of the courts will be compromised if the verdict about elections in Punjab is not implemented.

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice-President Fawad Chaudhary said they had written a letter to President Arif Alvi to send a reference to the Supreme Court against the caretaker setups of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that the term of the caretaker setup of both the provinces will expire soon.
Fawad Chaudhary said the State Bank of Pakistan would transfer the funds to the Election Commission of Pakistan for elections in Punjab as per the directives of the apex court.
“If honor and respect of the judiciary will be at stake if the verdict about the elections is not implemented,” said the PTI leader while addressing a press conference along with Hammad Azhar in Lahore on Sunday .
He also said, "We have asked the President for the reference to the SC. Otherwise, they will approach the apex court against the Punjab and KPK caretaker governments,”.
Fawad Chaudhary said they asked the president to seek report from the Election Commission of Pakistan about the caretaker setups in both Punjab and KP.
The Punjab caretaker government, he said, would expire on April 22 while the KP caretaker setup will lose its status the next week.
He claimed that the caretaker governments did not work since the day they took the charge, suggesting that the serving or retired judges or bureaucrats should be appointed as administrators to look after the affairs of both the provinces.
The PTI leader said that the whole nation was standing with the Supreme Court and they hoped that the apex court would deliver justice.
“It is the Supreme Court which can extend the elections’ date. The judges, we request them, to deliver justice. The whole nation is standing by with them. They are supposed to dispense with the justice instead of the “reconciliation”,” said Fawad Chaudhary.
He questioned that why the present government was not talking about the issue of Kashmir and Modi was under fire over his involvement in Palwama but nobody was talking about it in Pakistan.
Indian Govt and media accused me of admitting Pulwama incident in my NA speech, #Endia even tried to initiate Interpol against me, now after Gov SatyaPal Malik interview I demand apology by #ModiGovt from me and the people of Pakistan for cooking up false allegations. pic.twitter.com/UsQHmwFroD

Talking about Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said his statement should be investigated. He said that Fazlur Rehman should speak as per his stature.
