Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced to reduce sentences of prisoners.


Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced to reduction the sentences of prisoners who pursued technical education.
In a meeting held regarding jail reforms, he announced that the duration of sentences for inmates pursuing technical education would be reduced.
Chief Minister extended the reduction in sentence duration from 2 months to 3 months.
The reduction can be availed twice a year.
Additionally, programs were initiated to improve facilities in waiting areas of eight prisons.
Chief Minister has directed to increase the number of PCs, video calls, and international call facilities for the prisoners.
The management of jail hospitals was entrusted to the Health Department.
In the meeting, the facility of LED TVs with cable connection was also introduced.
