The Minister for Power said Pakistan at present is faced with many challenges on the economic and foreign policy fronts in addition to the energy.


Islamabad: Minister for Power Khurram Dastagir said no increase has been made in the basic tariff of electricity since September last year.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Wednesday), he sstated the fuel price adjustment has also been kept at the minimal level.
The Minister for Power continued to say: “The feeders of Category I and II where recovery rate is more than eighty percent are facing less than two hours of load-shedding”.
He expressed satisfaction over the electricity generation saying Tarbela is running in full capacity.
Khurram Dastagir said the government has remained successful in controlling Circular Debt. He said a major payment has been made to the IPPs in the month of June.
The Minister for Power said Pakistan at present is faced with many challenges on the economic and foreign policy fronts in addition to the energy.
He was confident that the people will elect to power a strong government in the next general elections which will address these problems and put the country on the path of development.
Khurram Dastagir said the people should reject those elements in the elections who attack the state and invite other countries interfere in the internal matters of Pakistan.
He pointed out that military installations and Radio Pakistan's building were attacked on May 9 and the law will take its course against those behind them.
Responding to a question, the Minister for Power said that PML-N Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will lead the election campaign of the PML_N. He said the injustices done to the former Prime Minister should be reversed by the judiciary.
