According to initial reports, armed terrorists stormed the Mattani Police Station late at night in the Adam Khan area of Peshawar.
An exchange of fire ensued between the police and the attackers.
Authorities confirm that reinforcement from the police line and other police stations in Peshawar have arrived outside the Mattani Police Station.
However, there is no information about any casualties resulting from the gunfire.
Security forces are working to neutralize the situation under control and clear the area.
